Q. What is Extrudawood?

Extrudawood is a thermoplastic composite material manufactured from virgin and recycled plastic.

Q. Is Q. Extrudawood a Hollow Profile like PVC?

No. Extrudawood profiles are all solid sections just like wood.

Q. Is There an Extrudawood Warranty?

Extrudawood products usually carry a Lifetime Limited Warranty. (N.B. see specific product warranties)
(a) is rot, and water resistant
(b) is free from damage by fungal decays,
(c) will not splinter or crack when fixed correctly
(e) is otherwise free from defects in material and workmanship.

Q. Can one Paint on Extrudawood ?

Extrudawood  readily accepts acrylic water based paints and stains. However due to the incredible appearance and characteristics of the product, painting is not required. Do not use oil-based stains on the Ezedeck product due to the nature of the Thermoplastic material.

Q. Do Extreme Temperature Changes Effect Extrudawood?

Extrudawood will expand and contract with temperature change as with most materials. The product design and function allows this to occur. Please refer to the expansion and contraction chart under installation tips for proper spacing in relation to local temperatures.

Q. How Does Extrudawood  Compare to Other Plastic Timber Products?

Extrudawood  is unique, that looks and feels like professionally finished wood, offering an incredible wood grain appearance. Extrudawood has all the benefits of other plastic timber products, making it virtually maintenance free and with its engineered profiles and simple fixing systems.

Q. Is Extrudawood  Slippery?

The deck board has very good traction wet and dry. The inherent qualities of the Extrudawood  material reduces slippage commonly found on painted wood decks across the UK. The surface is surprisingly tacky in bare feet or shoes, wet or dry!

Q. Does Saltwater, Chlorinated Pool Water and Mould Affect Extrudawood ?

The Extrudawood  material is virtually impervious to water, including salt water and chlorinated pool water. Mould is less likely to be a problem with Ezedeck because there are no natural wood fibres. It should be noted however, that mould will appear almost anywhere under continuous moist, and damp conditions.

Q. Will the Colour Fade?

The unique wood grain coloration is consistent throughout the product and will not fade to grey. UV inhibitors are added to the product during the manufacturing process to ensure that the beauty will last. Over time the glossy finish of Extrudawood  will weather to a matte finish further enhancing the natural look of real wood.

Q. How does one Work with Extrudawood ?

Extrudawood can be cut and drilled just like wood. Carbide blades (TCT)and rapid cuts are recommended in order to reduce friction, heat build up and melting. A mitre saw or handsaw makes beautiful clean cuts with all components of the decking system. Extrudawood can be planed and screwed just like wood.

Q. How does one Clean Extrudawood ?

Simple spray with your garden hose or power wash will clean the surface. Extrudawood may scratch and dent like wood but will not discolour because the colour runs throughout the product.

Q. Will Insects Damage Extrudawood ?

No. Extrudawood is totally resistant to insect attack or fungal decay.

Q. How Long Will Extrudawood Last ?

Provided Extrudawood is installed correctly and not abused it will never rot and could last for generations.
